Emergency Medicine Nurse

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current state of Texas license as a Registered Nurse with no sanctions or restrictions.
  • 2 years of experience as an emergency medicine nurse or comparable experience.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS must be current.
  • Experience in working with EMR systems & ability to learn new software programs as needed.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with preferred Spanish or second language.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must follow the regulations of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Use knowledge and skills of emergency medicine to thoroughly evaluate patients and identify and anticipate nursing patient care needs.
  • Ensure that appropriate nursing care is provided to all patients in a compassionate, thorough and competent manner.
  • Use Biohazard containers properly, empty and replace Sharps containers.
  • Effectively evaluate and document the patient outcome(s) to treatment and care as well as modify treatment plan as needed.
  • Must complete legible, accurate, and complete documentation of records in Emergency Department
  • Respect and Support patient rights.
  • Promote a positive work environment for colleagues, patients, and patient family relations.
  • Use patient feedback, research, and reviews to enhance patient care and improve Emergency Department procedures and guidelines
  • Practice effective cost control for patients and Emergency Department

  • Assess medical supply inventory during every shift and report shortages and restock items when needed.

Imaging Technician

Basic Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED,
  • Completed program requirements of AMA-approved school of Radiological Technology
  • Certified as a medical radiologic technologist in the State of Texas
  • CT Certification
  • BLS certification

Preferred:

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiology
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or computed tomography
  • 2 or more years of radiology or imaging
  • 1 or more years of CT experience in Emergency Department
  • Proficient in X-ray, CT, or GE’s software and PACS
  • Position requires fluent English with Spanish preferred but not required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform diagnostic X-ray and CT exams ordered by staff physician or medical director.
  • Work independently while providing effective patient care.
  • Prepare and perform patient X-Ray and CT Scans following established protocols and patient care procedures
  • Chart and log completed X-Rays, CT Scans, and ultrasound as required or necessary as well as complete associated paperwork.
  • Must be able to learn or implement IVs, labs, clinical tests, EKGs, and other procedures as requested by physician
  • Maintain the Emergency Department and Imaging room in efficient and sanitary method as required by law. Immediately report any equipment failure or malfunction to Medical Director, physician, or nurse manager

Patient Access Representative

Basic Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of registration experience in emergency department, hospital, or physician office.
  • 2 or more years of insurance verification.
  • Must have knowledge experience in PPO, POS, HMO and other 3rd party payors.
  • Knowledge of Transfer Memorandum
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology
  • Pleasant demeanor and exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience with full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, with preferred Spanish or 2nd language

Job Requirements:

  • Verify and enter all patient information including insurance and billing at time of check in.
  • Maintain daily patient logs for all patients entering the Emergency Department
  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and other inquiries of the department.
  • Maintain the Patient Access and Reception area as required and be proactive in keeping the area clean and inviting.
  • Collect and document all copays and balances at time of treatment
  • Document all incidents in patient access and report them to the Facility Administrator, Office Manager, or Patient Access Director.
  • Assess and restock all patient access supplies as needed and report any shortages or needs to Facility Administrator or Patient Access Director.
  • Follow all procedures in the Front Line employee handbook
  • Must be able to multitask and handle emergent and emotional conditions in a positive manner.

Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) performs various patient care activities in the pre-hospital setting, in accordance with all rules and regulations set forth by the state Emergency Medical Services Commission. This is a night time off hours position.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent. EMT Certification required.
  • Minimum Work Experience Minimum 12 months Emergency Medical Technician experience.
  • Required Skills Must possess the ability to communicate with and effectively treat patients of all ages.
  • Ability to administer first aid/emergency care.
  • Ability to speak effectively and convey information to supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to use judgment and perform critical thinking.
  • Basic typing and personal computer skills.

Functional Demands

  • Must pass a physical examination and physical agility test. Physical demands include lifting, climbing, pushing, reading, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and exert 20-50 pounds of pressure.
  • OSHA Category I tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue.
  • Physically capable of performing BLS EMT services with reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical procedures, medical knowledge, techniques, and information needed to treat injuries.

  • Performs daily vehicle maintenance check and cleans both inside and outside of assigned unit on a daily basis.
  • Actively participates in safe delivery of patient care and maintains a safe environment for all patients.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality as required by HIPPA guidelines.

Nonessential Functions

  • Performs clerical duties within the department.
  • Demonstrates flexibility as patient care needs change.
  • Works in cooperation with co-workers and supervisory staff. Ability to flex schedule to meet the department needs to include longer scheduled shifts and may include night, weekend and holiday coverage.

Facility Resource Specialist

The Facility Resource Specialist (FRS) will courteously and professionally greet patients and obtain accurate demographic and insurance information for registration. This position will work in harmony with clinical staff to ensure each patient is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member is treated with the utmost respect. The FRS will carry-out his/her duties by adhering to the highest standard of ethical and moral conduct. The FRS will fully support the mission, vision, and values of Frontline ER. FRS will use applications such as Internet, Word, Excel and Centricity. FRS in a professional practice he/she is responsible for participating in and maintaining quality, cost effectiveness and guest relations. This is a night time off hours position.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is preferred.
  • Experience working with at least 2 years of in a patient care or a face to face customer service environment is required.
  • Experience working in an Emergency Department is preferred.
  • Experience working with patient records and charts is preferred.
  • Experience providing customer service to patients and their families is preferred.
  • Understanding of insurance plans is preferred.
  • Validation of clinical skills as outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain for annual clinical competency.
  • Performs all tasks as described on the current Front Office Daily Checklist.
  • All Staff are responsible for ensuring the facility is cleaned and well maintained.
  • Ability to flex schedule to meet the department needs to include longer scheduled shifts and may include night, weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greets all patients and visitors.
  • Answers by phone or in person, patient inquiries regarding Frontline ER and services provided.
  • Obtains complete and accurate demographic, insurance and financial data to complete registration.
  • Verifies and documents patient insurance eligibility information, co-payment amounts, and collects fees.
  • Reviews and processes patient registration forms and medical records ensuring they contain all necessary documents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) with individuals and groups of various backgrounds and educational levels in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner, under stressful demands while maintaining exceptional customer service.
    • Exhibits a high level of empathy with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members during traumatic events, while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
    • Explains and obtains appropriate consents from patient or family member in addition to any other regulatory, required and/or applicable forms.
    • Updates and maintains patient database according to established procedures.
    • Effectively communicates with nurse and physician with ability to direct protocol compliance for Medical Screening Exam while maintaining respectful relationships.
    • Completes and balances all daily transaction paperwork and scans to the office manager.
    • Maintains an open line of communication with office manager and Facility Administrator regarding any issue that arises within the facility.
    • Maintains consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
    • Follows and maintains current knowledge of company and department policies and procedures.
    • Maintains 98% accuracy level for patient data entry.
    • Has to be willing to be cross-trained in different areas of the facility, including medical side.
    • Being able to purchase the Frontline ER scrubs to wear during work shifts. Being able wear the Frontline ER work badge at all times during work shifts.

    Working Conditions

    • Physical Demands – While performing the duties of this job, the employee must lift and/or move regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with good body mechanics. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk up to 12 hours with frequent bending and twisting motions required.
    • Adverse/Hazardous Conditions – Potential injuries resulting from physical efforts and chemical irritants. Potential exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
    • Must be able to perform duties in a fast paced/stressful environment.
    • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.

    Critical Emergency Room Nurse

    Provides advanced nursing care for patients with acute conditions such as heart attacks, respiratory distress syndrome, or shock. May perform advanced, invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Education

    Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing, or a diploma in nursing.

    Minimum Work Experience

    At least 2 years’ experience in acute care environment.

    Required Skills

    Essential Functions

    • Performs emergency medical procedures, such as Basic cardiac life support (BLS), Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), Pediatric Acute Life Support (PALS), and other condition stabilizing interventions.
    • Documents data related to patients’ care, including assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes.
    • Manages patients’ pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic
    • interventions, monitoring patients’ responses, and changing care plans accordingly.
    • Administers blood and blood product transfusions or intravenous infusions, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
    • Assesses urgent and emergent health conditions using both physiologically and technologically derived data.
    • Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests and screening procedures based on assessment results, differential diagnoses, and knowledge about age, gender, and health status of clients.
    • Interprets information obtained from electrocardiograms (EKGs) or radiographs (X rays).
    • Sets up, operates, or monitors invasive equipment and devices such as colostomy or tracheotomy equipment, mechanical ventilators, catheters, gastrointestinal tubes, and central lines.
    • Diagnoses acute or chronic conditions that could result in rapid physiological deterioration or life-threatening instability.
    • Discusses illnesses and treatments with patients and family members.
